Kroger: Special on iPhone's 8/20 - 8/23

I received some information yesterday that is pretty exciting for those of us without post paid phone plans! One of the I-wireless phones will be on deeeep discount this weekend at select Kroger's in the Nashville & Louisville area. This weekend ONLY From 8/20 - 8/23 you will be able to pick up a Red LG 150 for $9.99 at certain Krogers. (The phone retails at $39.99)

The Limit is ONE PHONE PER CUSTOMER and your Kroger Plus card MUST be used at the time of purchase.

Something really cool about the iWireless phone plan you may not be aware of is that you can link your Kroger Plus card to your iWireless Phone number and participate in their FREE MINUTES loyalty program. You receive 100 bonus minutes at activation of this program as well as 20 free minutes for every $100.00 you spend at Kroger.

The really exciting thing to me is that the $100.00 you spend? is $100.00 BEFORE Paper coupons come off. The marketing person who contacted me checked with the IT department and let me know that the $100 is after e-coupons (Shortcuts, pgesavers, cellfire etc) are removed but BEFORE Paper coupons are removed!! I believe this works a lot like the gas program where it is cumulative.

They also allow you to carry your minutes from month to month.

Some other features of i Wireless are:
*Night minutes start at 7pm
*FREE incoming text minutes
*Refill and never lose your airtime

*Monthly plans start at $20.00
*NO ACTIVATION FEES!
You can find out more about the iwireless service here.
Is your Kroger participating? Here are the Nashville Kroger Stores who are participating!!

If you have no use for these personally...(don't have a child who you might need to keep up with or something similar...these would be great to donate to the church. Not a whole fleet of them but how cool would it be to be able to help a family out with a free cell phone if they find themselves in a position unable to have a phone?! They could link it to their kroger plus card and I'm fairly sure it would probably even work with EBT Cards. I know the gas program works with EBT Cards.

Carol,

Is this a complete list of stores that are doing this promotion? How can I find out if others are doing it? I have family in Sumner and Robertson counties that might be interested but none of the stores listed are very close to them.
thanks!

Hi Tara! The marketing representative who contacted me e-mailed me this list and said it was valid only in select louisville & nashville stores. I can email her and ask her if any of the sumner or robertson county stores might be participating, surely there are stores between here and louisville that are. Good Question! I will let you know as soon as I have info from her!

Hi Tara...Just wanted to let you know I just heard back from my marketing contact with iwirelesshome and she advises that the list i have posted here is all of the Tennessee stores that are participating :/ I'm sorry!!

looks like a roadtrip may be in order for your family :( looks like gallatin road or one of the mount juliet stores may be the closest for Sumner county and as for robertson county maybe gallatin road as well :(

I'm so sorry I don't have better news ! :(

Thanks for checking for me. I'm going to send them a link to your site for the details. It would totally be worth the drive to me. I still have 9 months left on my contract with Sprint, but will definetly be looking for something like this when the contract expires. Hopefully they'll do it again! Love your site!

Hey Tara...Thanks! I'm really glad you love the site :) Anything that you would like to see here different from what i put please feel free to ask :) No harm in asking :) here is an idea...just a thought you know ;) and this is totally just me and my thoughts...If you currently shop at Kroger and think this is something you more than likely will do when the time rolls around (9 months from now) then you may want to go ahead and pick the phone up and activate it to your kroger plus card but not sign up for a plan. Then as you spend money over the next 9 months every time you hit 100.00 you will earn 20 more minutes - the minutes don't expire - i haven't really looked into how long they last or if you would have to use the phone once a month or anything but it may be worth looking into - then by the time you are ready to use the phone you may have a nice stash of minutes there. other prepaid options you might consider might be cricket (Cricket has great prices but their service area is minimal. There are many places in clarksville that have no service and pretty much if you get away from the interstate there isn't a lot of coverage. Verizon prepaid is a nice option but it's still too pricy for me (Of course - you may have figured out by now anything above free is too much for me to pay LOL) Net10 is okay but they are pricey and don't have unlimited nights or unlimited nights and weekends. Boost Mobile I hear is the way to go with prepaid because it is like 55.00 and it's totally unlimited... I really like the iwireless because i can earn money on it with what i spend at kroger...and i can typically take a $100 order at kroger before coupons and turn it into something like $35.00 I will definitely pick up a phone if there are any left by the time i get to kroger ...but i don't know yet if i'll activate or donate . ;)

Hey Tara and Carol, it's Kelly from i-wireless. If you are on a pay per use plan you can rollover up to 100 minutes. If you are on a monthly plan, you can rollover up to 1500 minutes. Both require you to add airtime before your expiry date, which depends on which route you take. Our website, www.iwirelesshome.com outlines this in the FAQs. : )
