Lets get healthy!!

It has recently come to my attention via several methods that I am extremely out of shape....like if I could get college credit for being out of shape - I would have this "A" in the bag!

How do I know i'm out of shape?

-Clothes don't fit right. what once was loose, now is tight.
-Difficulty climbing stairs, getting out of the floor
-two words - MY KNEES!
-That evil, evil scale.

I am sick of it.  Diets do not work for me though.  Notice the capital D.  When I think diet, I think of a hat my grandfather had that said something like "I don't diet.  Notice the first 3 letters of the word are DIE"

I can't bear to spend the cash on a Wii or a wii-fit since I can't really justify the expense.  Someone was kind enough to give me a copy of P90X since he wasn't using it.

For the next 13 weeks I plan to "Bring it" as much as a Beginner can to try to get back to the shape I was in when I worked out with body builders.  I will be committing 1 and a half hours each day to the lovely P90X.  No clue what i'm going to do with my monkeys during that time.  I might have to work out while they sleep - like now.

I don't want to consider this a diet plan or even a "Life change" instead this is the "I'm fat so let's fix it" plan.

So here is my schedule for the next 3 weeks:

Weeks 1, 2, and 3

Day 1 – Chest and Back, plus Ab Ripper X
Day 2 – Plyometrics
Day 3 – Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X
Day 4 – Yoga X
Day 5 – Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X
Day 6 – Kenpo X
Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch

I don't want to share my weight right now BUT I will share my weight loss with you :) and when i've lost half of what i'd like to lose I will share my current plus start weight.  Does that sound fair?  Here is a hint - my weight starts with a 2.

I'd LOVE for you to join in and blog along with me!!

Here is my meal plan along with goals for next week:

Drink 100 oz of water each day. (Don't worry - I can totally handle this much water. TOTALLY)

Sun- Poultry - Red beans & Rice w/ Turkey Sausage, fried green beans, salad, dirt pudding
Mon- Chili Burgers w/ Avocado (I'll put mine on some greens.)
Tue- Pizza - buffalo/bbq chicken & veggie pizza. Small homemade pizza with soy cheese for lil man.
Wed- Salad - Chicken Caesar Salad
Thu- Brinner - MonteCrizto's mommy's way. (I have discovered mine are different than other peoples)
Fri- Grilled or baked marinated chicken with roasted veggies.
Sat- Meatless - meatless chili.

I'd like to lose 5 lbs this week. That doesn't SOUND healthy until you realize that I have had a gastric bypass.  I had a duodenal switch 5 years ago and the medication I am on to control my bipolar disorder can cause weight gain.  So can depression.  Actually if I lose 3 lbs I will be happy.

So that is the plan for next week.  I need to watch some of the p90x dvd's and see what i'm in for so I can decide what day i'm going to start them.

Here is where I share that I do have a degree in biology and have pretty extensive knowledge of proper excercise form and how to target specific muscle groups.  I spent a year training with two personal trainers a few years ago.  I also have an extensive working knowledge of nutrition and actually am supposed to eat high protein, low carb due to my gastric bypass.  As with any excercise or diet program you should ALWAYS consult your doctor first.  Just sayin'

So are you with me? What are your goals???

Has anyone seen the wagon I need to climb back onto? It seems that I hit my head when I fell off ;)

I used the oxycise video workouts several years ago and they really do burn fat but I never lost any actual pounds. I did feel great and fit even though I am overweight. I can't lose weight either. I always end up gaining instead of losing. I lost 30 pounds from gall bladder sugery in the last 5 months and that has been a blessing as I feel so much better. I wish you well.
