Mini Product Review: Vita Coco with Tangerine and Vita Coco with Pineapple

Last night I decided I would try two more of my variety of vita coco water. I had finally wrestled my two taste testing partners into bed (and yes, I really mean wrestled :) ) I decided to try Tangerine & Pineapple.
From left to right, coconut water with tangerine, coconut water with passion fruit, coconut water with pineapple, coconut water with acai & pomegranate, coconut water with peach & mango and pure coconut water.
I LOVE Citrus stuff. SO it was with great anticipation that I placed my Tangerine coconut water in the fridge alongside it's pineapple compadre and waited the few hours for them to reach an appropriate chilly cold temperature!

Vita Coco: 100% Coconut Water with Tangerine

What did I think?

I took my first sip last night and was disappointed. It really didn't have more than an extremely faint hint of tangerine and was really not all that tasty in my mouth :( I LOVE citrus and was looking forward to trying this one especially.

Again this one was lightly sweet and towards the bottom did have more of a coconut flavor. I tried to drink this one faster but had trouble doing that. I drank it much slower than I normally drink a glass of something.
The flavor was not all out revolting but it was not my favorite ever. The mouth-feel was the same as the other two I had tried with it being slightly thicker than water. I think I might have liked it better if the coconut flavor were more pronounced or if it were an all-out orange flavor and not tangerine.
I would give this 2.0 stars out of 5 stars. I didn't really like it much. It didn't taste like tangerine to me.
Vita Coco with Pineapple
This morning while getting ready to drop the girl at preschool she and I tried the Vita Coco Coconut Water with Pineapple. Of course seeing the familliar tetra pack my daughter was insistant. "WANT!" she cried.
The Girl:
She liked this but not as much as the other two. I asked her if she wanted more and she said no. It could have been because she was focusing on getting dressed but I think it was just because she is not much of a pineapple fan. She didn't chase me down and try to steal it this time.
I asked if she liked it and she said she did.
I think it's a 3 out of 5 for her, mainly due to the use of the "very most offensive of fruits" - Pineapple. ;)
Me:
I like pineapple very much so i was excited about trying this! I had heard of people using this for the base of their pina coladas and man was I excited at the thought of something that strongly flavored. It was much sweeter than the other 3 that I have tried. (Think about how sweet pineapple juice is!) This flavor was much better than Tangerine for me! I drank this much faster than the Tangerine and I enjoyed it! I liked the pomegranate and the plain better but this was good too!
I give this 3.75 out of 5 stars.
It was very refreshing and the health benefits are great!!

This post is great! This is John from Smile.ly and thanks for the great review on Vita Coco. I'm glad your kids loved it too. I love the pineapple flavor, followed by passion fruit.
