Publix Recap

I had some rainchecks and I'm going to include them. Let me explain the importance of always getting a rain check if a store is out of an item. It can make some SERIOUS difference in your total For instance:

Lipton tea 100 ct: $3.59 WITHOUT raincheck.
WITH Raincheck BOGO $3.59 ($1.80/$1.79 ea) I had .50 coupons for this. So I bought 8 at .80 each instead of buying 8 at $3.59 each ($6.40 vs $28.72)

When getting a raincheck ALWAYS ask for the maximum # of items allowed . Publix allows you 4 deals. This means if the item is non Buy One Get One (BOGO) you may get 4 items. If the item is on BOGO you may get 8 items. (*TIP* When they ask me how many I want to get I always respond with "How many can I get?" and whatever the answer is ..well that's my answer)

Today at Publix I bought:
6.40 (8) boxes of Lipton @ .80 each (raincheck+coupon)
3.20 (4) packs of Velveeta @ .80 each (raincheck+coupon)
1.99 (1) Velveeta shells and cheese (No coupons -I was lazy!)
1.06 (2) BC cookie mixes @ .53 each (BOGO + Coupons)
0.00 (2) Heluva good dip (2/2.00 - 2.00 worth of coupons)
1.50 (2) Breakstone sour creams @ .75 each
3.49 (2) BOGO Boca burgers
2.99 (2) Barber stuffed chicken breast (BOGO + coupons)
2.32 (2) Kraft cheddar shredded (3/5.00 + coupons)
7.60 (4) Emerald nuts (BOGO + Coupons)
.99 (2) Rotel Diced tomatoes BOGO
2.00 (5) Mt. Olive pickles (BOGO + Coupons)
1.60 (1) BOGO PBX Baked potato salad (Deli)

41.90 was my total
31.60 saved in coupons
73.50 is the total shopping ONLY sales and using NO COUPONS
42.99% total savings over shopping just the sales by using coupons
118.03 would be what I would pay FULL PRICE, NO COUPONS for all of this.
76.13 is what I saved by shopping sales and using coupons
64.5% is what I saved over full price.

Two transactions combined from tonight:
I paid: 59.24
Coupons: 59.08 (118.32 if I only shopped the sales) (59.08 saved) 49.93% saved
Sale savings: 56.48 (174.80 if I paid full price) (115.56 saved) 66.11% saved
