It's September 10th today. We are three short months away from December 10th. It doesn't necessarily snow every winter here in the mid-south but it gets pretty chilly - doesn't it? It's not like we live in Hawaii or Mexico where it's fairly seasonable in the winter.
I am a fan and a "friend" of Donna Cruz of WAY-FM radio on facebook. I am also a real fan of both she and WAY-FM. I enjoy the music and the message. Speaking of messages - she had a very important one for her facebook friends this morning.

"Donna Cruz: It's gonna be chilly before you know it. Now would be a great time to collect blankets and coats for the homeless. More families are living in tents bc they have lost their homes. If you need to know where to drop them off let me know."
1 in 50 American children will experience homelessness. So that means if your child is in a class of 30 at school...There is roughly a %50 chance that one of the kids in your childs class is homeless.
So if you feel moved to collect blankets and/or coats (or other goods) for the homeless and want to drop them off Donna advised me that you could drop them off at the station or Franklin Christian Church.

Alternatively - if you live in my neck of the woods and don't want to drive to Franklin you can bring them to Gladeville Baptist Church or I am positive the Nashville Rescue Mission would take them.
